In this lesson, we discussed adjectives.
Extra time was spent on the comma between multiple adjectives strung
together. This was of interest to the students. Also, we discussed how to
make adjectives out of certain nouns and verbs by adding a 'y' to the end
of the word.
We had a brief introduction to root words, prefixes, and
suffixes. We didn't spend too much time on the topic, though. It will be
covered in more depth in a future lesson.
Finally, we discussed superlatives,
and how to create them from adjectives by adding the suffixes "er"
and "est". We also discussed the alternative method of
"more" and "most", required by certain words. Then we
went over "good, better, best" and "bad, worse,
worst".
